Why did I decide to write a genealogy software, and not some "cool" application ? Because it is quite hard. I wanted to learn a new programming language, and to make things interesting, I decided to write one. Also because I needed one. My family is quite large. I want to keep this information myself, and then a classic answer, I did not find any other application that I liked.
Why write container ? Because I need it. When I am programming, I copy and paste quite a lot, I need to have useful information close to me, so I wrote the application. I used this and showed it around, and people found it quite useful, for example taking notes, and answering help desk tickets.
